Pest Control

Last night just before dusk, Stacy, Skyla and Weston released 72,000 ladybugs at the farm. A spectacular full moon rose out of the North Cascades to the east while we worked, and the air was warm and calm. The kids shrieked with laughter when the newly free ladybugs climbed their arms. A beautiful evening.

The goal is to have the ladybugs settle in and eat every last aphid on the farm. We’ll see how it goes…but if you ask the kids, we already got our money’s worth.
