Grandma Checks InPosted: November 13, 2012
From Closer to the Ground: “Smart, gregarious, inquisitive, but above all else, crows are survivors, adapting to any environment, from deep wilderness to inner city… My mother says Grandma is a crow now. I’m not sure if I buy it, at least not in a literal sense. Yet I can’t help feeling a special affection for the big black birds…”
What further proof do I need? Sunday afternoon, as I was getting ready for the book event at Diesel, this crow appeared outside the window of my mom’s place in Berkeley. Coincidence? Maybe. But I’m happy to have her watching over me.
