Super excited for the book event this Wednesday at Patagonia San Francisco. If you happen to be in the Bay Area (or if you know someone who is, please share this) come on down to the Patagonia store, 770 North Point at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 16th. We’ll talk about foraging, fishing, wild food, getting kids outside and whatever else anyone’s interested in, then read a few excerpts from Closer to the Ground. Doors open at 6:00pm.
I think we’ll have a great time. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person. Hope you are all well.
I’m super excited to kick off our Spring 16 book tour for Closer to the Ground paperback at Patagonia Hale’iwa. We’ll talk a bit about foraging, wild food, kids in the outdoors and island life, then read a few stories from the book. Questions, answers (if I have any) and discussion to follow. I think it’s going to be a fun evening, so if you–or anyone you know–are on Oahu then, please come by.
Details, in case the poster is tough to read: 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 23rd at the Hale’iwa Patagonia store on the North Shore of Oahu.
We’ll follow up this event with readings/talks (including some special guests) in Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and New York City. Stay tuned for details.
The last few weeks have been a mad scramble for me, with work deadlines, kids playing two sports each, and trying to use any spare moments (Ha! He said “spare moments.”) to work on a new book. All great stuff, just a lot of it. So not much fishing, foraging or food to report today.
But I did want to post this flyer: John Larison (in a rare Seattle appearance), Cameron Scott and I will be reading and talking about fish, fishing, conservation and writing at a fundraiser for Wild Steelhead Coalition. I think it’s going to be an awesome time–details on the poster–and we hope you can join us. Did I mention it’s at the Georgetown Brewery? Tasty beverages and good times guaranteed to roll.
I will be at Kinokuniya Bookstore in the Seattle International District this coming Saturday, June 20th, at 2:00pm. Come check it out if you can–it’s a great excuse to hang in the I.D., forage up some great dim sum, and then listen to me talk about and read from Closer to the Ground. Did I mention that a signed copy of of Closer to the Ground makes a great Father’s Day gift? Okay, my publisher made me add that last bit…
